Absolut

Abby (a.k.a. Ba-Bee, Thing) is one of our two Alaskan Huskies. She came to us as a ~14 week old pup in February 2001 from Jamie Nelson. Abby is from an outcross litter of Jamie's distance dogs with a Gunner son out of E. Streeper's kennel. A 36-pound dynamo, Abby is definitely her 'own thing' and tops the Sibertopia charts for goofiness.

Abby runs mostly at lead on the sled pet team, occasionally at team. She gets extremely worked up when it's time to run and has this horrible scream of excitement that sounds like someone is pulling out her toenails. As a pup, we called her the screaming wild white puppy from hell. She is also the only sled dog we have that barks when she runs...little barking noises for the first 100 yards or so and then she barks (a sound twice as big as she is) at any team she passes just to let them know she's in charge.

Abby is very affectionate and attached to her people and frequently demands their attention! She is also a strong willed little thing with a mind of her own. She is definitely 'next in line' to run the sled pets when Niki passes to the sled trails in the sky.

Below are some of our better Abby pictures. Click the thumbnail for a larger, hi-res view!

Are We Gonna Run Now?

Abby is certainly happy when the harnesses come out. Soon the screaming will start!

Whattaya Mean I'm Not in Charge?

Abby definitely has a bit of the 'alpha' in her and likes to get her way.

Doggy Yoga

Abby practices yoga techniques for relaxation.
Or perhaps she was a contortionist in a former life?

Das Hund!

We're told that Abby has Greyhound not too far back in her pedigree. Given her build, not hard to believe!
