Jack (a.k.a. Jack-man-doo) came to us as a puppy in the fall of 1999 from Ann & Al Stead, Northome Siberians. Out of two of the Stead's main leaders (Cloud x Frank), Jack has been a natural since we first put him in a puppy harness at 12 weeks and he was pulling small logs around the yard. Friendly, easy going and smart, Jack is surely one of the best dogs ever to live!...(okay, maybe we are a little biased).

Jack is the main leader on the sled pet team. If the trail is tough or requires a lot of turns, he's the one we put up front. He's willing, responsive and if you can figure out how to communicate to him what you want, he will happily do it. In open field leader training (working on directional commands with no trail to follow) Jack has demonstrated he understands Gee and Haw better than the driver most of the time!

We couldn't be happier with this boy and would gladly add several more like him if we could clone him. Affectionate and people-oriented, he's a delightful dog to have around.

Below are some of our better Jack pictures. Click the thumbnail for a larger, hi-res view!

Agility Jack

Jack spent a summer as a student in agility training. While we have no plans to ever compete in agility, we believe it gives dogs confidence. Besides, it's a lot of fun!
