Juneau (a.k.a Biscuit, DogDog) was our first Siberian—a pet "reject" we bought from show breeders in 1991. A very tough "starter" dog, as a puppy she embodied every "typical" Siberian trait we'd read about. Reading about it was one thing, living through it was another matter all together!

Luckily for all of us, we stuck it out through the early years and she taught us a lot through our many mistakes. Always confident, always friendly with people and other dogs, she's was always happy to have a 'wooing' conversation with anyone willing to listen.

Juneau was the real brains of the crew and she was smart enough to know she didn't really have to pull if she could fake it well enough to convince us she was.

We lost Juneau to liver cancer in the fall for 2004—Sibertopia is a quieter place without her but we miss her greatly!

Below are some of our favorite Juneau pictures. Click the thumbnail for a full-sized view.
