| We bought TJ (a.k.a. TJer, Rat) as a puppy from musher Terry Hinesly in 1996. The "micro-mini husky with perma-puppy coating," TJ comes from a long line of Siberians who had lead Terry's teams in local races as well as the Iditarod. For many years TJ was our main leader however her small stature (at ~36lbs) and shorter stride make it tough for her to keep up with the speed of the larger boys. Pushing 9 yrs, she's retired to couch dog as we increased miles during the season. Very friendly with people, TJ is at the bottom of the totem pole of dogs. She's also the ultimate huntress and spends many hours hunting frogs and lizards in the backyard. Having been through several training classes, she's an 'advanced beginner' in agility—although often turns 'Siberian' and decides to run the entire set of obstacles and do a few laps around the field rather than just doing the equipment she's been directed to! TJ was diagnosed with cancer in the summer of 2003. After two surgeries to remove mast cell tumors and 6-months of chemotherapy, she seems to be in the clear. We keep our fingers crossed she'll live out the rest of her life cancer free. Below are some of our better TJ pictures. Click the thumbnail for a larger, hi-res view! TJ's Pedigree
TJ and Friend We're not sure if TJ was feeling particularly lonely or if the corner this Siberian statue was in seemed like a good place to sleep. Rat TJ on her first camping trip. She was about 12 weeks old in this picture.
Hi res 129KB Singing TJ TJ loves to sing—usually one of the first to start in group howls and the last to stop! Adventures in Agility |
